Our Tracker - Surprise

DAY 1

After dealing with Johannesburg Airport, we flew in on a single-engine charter flight to one of many dirt runways in Sabi Sands. Dean, our guide, was thee to pick us up in the classic Land Rover. We got ourselves checked-in, had an awesome lunch, and then headed out on our first safari. First up, Elephants! Seeing one in a zoo is awesome but when the tusk is 10ft away with no fence inbetween.... its eye opening! Then there were rhinos, hippos, and leopards in the dark.

Every night, dinner was in a different area of Chitwa Chitwa. Our 1st evening was incredible. One of the rotating photos above shows the setting. Can you figure which one? very nice!

your guide!

DAY 2

Head on with the Elephants! Face to face and just hanging out. No need to worry. He's too busy trying to eat 300kg/day! Thats how much they have to eat every day. With plenty of grass and small trees around, he wont have a problem this year! Then we see Impala's with their young. Little baby Impala was copying her mother. Amazing to watch as they stood perfectly still. The best part of the day started with a race to see the Lions! Our guides were not allowed to enter Kruger. So, when the radio comes to life with a Lion sighting in Sabi... Its a race! We arrived to watch them within 20ft of us as they roamed around looking for breakfast. Fortunately, it was not us they were looking for... I know, some of you reading this are upset.... Then about 15 minutes later they wandered back into Kruger and we took off. Incredible!

DAY 3

Our final full day of safari, another great day. We saw a memory of elephants with infants dancing around like right out of junglebook. Leopards with dinner up in trees(we wont show those here). Another warm day in Sabi Sands with refreshments and good company kept things fun. But the best part is waking up at 5am with Waterbuck sleeping 5 ft from your door!
